The First Noel and Night of Silence

The concert in Isle went great last night, and Tom and I stayed up afterwards with a glass of wine and a wonderful cd of guitar Christmas songs.

At about 2:30 this morning we were awakened by the (extremely loud) ringing of Tom's cell phone, from the hospital telling him that our niece Abbie was trying to reach him. Abbie was extremely upset because, she said, "Granddad won't stop calling me!" He had called her repeatedly over the past 15 minutes, and she was very worried.

Tom called his dad, who was disoriented and couldn't explain why he was still up at 2:30 and why he had been trying to reach Abbie. Tom went over to see his dad (ended up taking him to the ER to be checked over).

When the phone rang, The First Noel was in my head. I found the song very comforting as I tried to get back to sleep after Tom left.

The first Noel the angel did say
Was to certain poor shepherds
in fields as they lay;
In fields as they lay, keeping their sheep,
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

     Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,
    Born is the King of Israel.

I woke up for good at 5:30, with Night of Silence in my head. That helped calm me down, too. Tonight is the second concert. I hope it goes well, and I hope the day goes fast so I can go back to bed--hopefully for a good night's sleep. I hope Ben is okay, too.
